We completed the first Mondo Zen Retreat in South Central this past Sunday at Land of My Grandfathers. 17 men and women (including one non-warrior and two Woman Within women) spent 3 days “practicing” meditation – by sitting in silence, moving and walking. We were lead by three wonderful people, well skilled teachers all. We were fed, nourished and cared for in the best way by our MOS guru, Michael Tremont.
Mondo Zen was a success!
To quote our retreat leader, Kodo Mike Elser, “Based on the final check-in, everyone walked away from the weekend with a deeper understanding of the nature and purpose of emotions and ego; a deeper experience of their authentic selves; an appreciation of the criticality of developing a disciplined meditation practice; and some tools each can use to improve their daily lives and the lives of those around them.”
We are very grateful for the support, both from our area administrator and the MZ leader team, but also the men and women who were with us in spirit last weekend. We are starting the planning process to have our second SCA Mondo Zen in 2018. We will keep you posted in hopes of gaining your consideration of joining us next year.
This one was a true blessing.
